Layered Conversations

I have realized that with 5 year olds you can never assume their reasoning is the same as yours. Krish and I have the most interesting layered conversations.

Krish: I want to have a sleep over with Emily.
I just assumed that Emily was his new best friend because she was not in his group the last couple of years. We were in the car and because I was paying attention to what he was saying, I asked him why.
Krish: because I want to show her my glow-in-the-dark t-shirt.
After another why, I got to know that she too has one of those and they wanted to compare them when it is dark :)

Krish: Cooper is now my best friend.
Me:Why?
Krish: Because we both watch Wild Kratts.

Krish: Winter is my favourite season.
Me:Why?
Krish: Because I can build a snowman and then come back inside and get warm and cosy and drink hot chocolate.

Learnt my lesson, now all his statements follow a religious why pattern. I am the most annoying mom:)
On milestones: Krish has just started his violin class and he looks absolutely adorable with it!
And his first day in Kindergarten.

Krishisms at three and a half years

Me: Krish, I have too many things to carry. Can you please carry your lunch bag to the car?

Krish: Mummy, I cannot! I am wearing gloves!

After I am done hanging the zillion bags on all available space on my shoulders and hands..

Krish: See! I told you you can do it!

Krishisms

“He is picking his nose and I should not have to look at it”.

When I went to drop Krish this morning, his teacher stopped reading the story she was reading to the kids, got up and came and told me that Krish actually said that yesterday.

LOL, seriously?

Some dirty linen

My little man was asleep and Eswar & I were having one of our epic fights over the phone. The shouting woke up the little fellow and he asks me very sweetly ‘What happened mummy’? I was so mad, I told him, ‘Your dad is a $%^&^%$’! And he again very sweetly says ‘oooh’. Now, you have to hear that ooh of his to understand. It conveys great understanding and knowledge of the moment:).
And then he ofcourse promptly goes back to sleep.

Meet the heroine – Tanu and the hero – Krish.
“Krish, do you love mummy or daddy?” Krish: “I love Tanu”.
When Krish got back to school after our vacation in D.C., Tanu:”My Krish is back”. Err..okay:P
