Good Question..

Today one of my friend asked me if motherhood was treating me well and my answer was yes and no. And it is sooo true. There are some aspects of motherhood that I absolutely love like looking at Krish first thing in the morning sleeping so blissfully beside me. It is so astonishing that he does that only when he is beside me and very flattering too:) Carrying him half asleep down before I leave for work. It feels so good to have him wrapped around me. And sometimes he gets up in the morning and his good morning smile just makes my day!
But what I am not enjoying is having to balance home and work. The house is always dirty.ugggh...I also sooo hate pumping, not that its painful or anything , I just hate the disturbance in my routine. I hate not being able to sleep through the night. I hate not being able to drink! Well, i guess the list would go on...Do I want to have another baby? Good question! And you know what they say when someone says that, you say 'good question' only when you know that your question is better than what the answer is going to be:) I bet you din't know that!

On a Friday afternoon,

Dear Krish, I sit in office pretending to be working but just waiting to get back home and cuddle you againt me and smell your baby smell. Its been a month since I have been back to work after having you. Some days went by fast while some days were spent waiting to get back home so that I could hold you. Baby, though it sounds cliched you are the best thing that happened to me. You are sweet natured & soo cute and you have this special 'bokka vai' smile for me that never fails to bring a smile to my face. Everybody who has been with you, your thatha, your amama and me and your daddy all think that you are going to grow up to be a sweet natured boy, non-aggressive and polite:) Can't wait to see if this prophecy is going to be true..

Medimix...

7:45 a.m., Tusday morning, I rush into the bathroom to have my bath & this very familiar smell assails me. My mom is here with me & she was using the medimix soap. For me my sense of smell is the strongest. Memories of people, places & long forgotten memories are brought back by their smell. This familiar, comforting smell brought back memories of early morning rush to have bath before going off to school/college/work in India and all of a sudden the sense of urgency disappeared & brought a smile & a very contented feeling .

Water. water, water...

Go up to the coffee room in office to fill my water bottle. After I am done, i notice a poodle of water sitting near the filter. My first reaction - to check my pants to see if that's my water that broke!:)..I know, wouldn't be quite so funny if it had actually happened:)

India elections - 2009

Just a post to say how proud I feel as I see my country entrusted again to an intelligent and honourable person - Manmohan Singh and this time the choice was clearly made by the people.
Hoping to see his integrity and sincerity trickling down to the lower wrungs in the political ladder and to the bureaucratic sections. For someone who can't see where i would be 5 years down the line, I can somehow under Manmohan Singh's leadership see where the country would be in 5 years. Can see the team of Manmohan Singh, Chindambaram and Sonia Gandhi grooming the next generation of the Gandhi's and Scindhia's to take over the reins of the country. Doesn't look too bad and can see myself growing old with them:)

I found this quite funny..

For some reason, i found this incident quite hilarious.

I was sitting in the temple when this pretty lady comes and asks the pujari if she can do an archanam. Archanam is chanting the different names of God and they also quote your name, father's/husband's name & nakshatram, gothram etc..

Pujari: Your name ? (and no, this is not a translation, the pujari's here speak English)

The lady: First or last name?

Yup, an ABCD:))
